When Aaron got home from work today Lia was so excited to see him, as she often is. He picked her up and spun her around :) I've been seeing a lot more of those sweet smiles recently, she's obviously feeling better.

We are still sniffly though. I felt feverish last night but so far so good today. Lia won't blow her nose anymore so she's dripping contantly and I'm forever wiping. I sat a few used tissues on the ottoman next to me (gross, I know but I don't want to be walking to the trash can every 30 seconds). Lia picked them up (sometimes she likes to shred them) and so I told her those are trash. She looked up at me with a slightly questioning look and I could see a little excitement in her eyes. She's fascinated with the trash can! So I proceeded and asked her, "Do you want to throw those away?" and she told me "no" (in a soft Lia way) and grabbed one in each hand and ran off to the kitchen. After listening to make sure she didn't stay and play with the garbage can I waited for her on the way back with open arms and an attack of kisses.

I'm so proud of Lia today, we're making progress I think. She pooped and peed in the potty again. She doesn't yet get herself there but I'm pretty sure she now knows what it's for. When I see her starting to go I rush her to the potty and she goes! I did this sporadically a while back but after all the commotion of getting to the bathroom she wouldn't go. There has been a few times, yesterday including, that I'll set her on there, usually before/after a bath and she's gone... woohoo! She ABSOLUTELY HATES diaper changes so it's also nice for her, I imagine. Maybe her desire for control will help :)
