On Sunday night we were over at a friend's house and Lia started this occasional cough. I didn't think much of it.. maybe it was an allergy to the dogs? But then last night her nose started running bigtime and she was sneezy and then the fever came. I guess it's been slowly creeping in. So much for getting her to sleep a little better at night. The fever's not as responsive to medicine as in the past. Ibuprofen is taking longer to get it down and not working for as long. This morning I had to give her tylenol too. Now that I think about it, last week she had been pushing on and trying to grab the back of her tongue.. was her throat sore/swolen?? Was that whining and wanting ice not because she was teething afterall? The fever hasn't been super high though. I haven't seen it over 102 yet but I'm never sure about the accuracy of my thermometer. I take it several times back to back and in each ear and it's always different. I think I've heard that ear thermometer's run high so I try not to worry as much... but it's hard when I pick her up and she feels SO hot! Especially under her neck and arms, poor baby. This morning when she woke at 6 AM I was so so sleepy and didn't fully wake up right away to her crying. I think I remember hearing her while I still thought I was sleeping but hopefully it wasn't for too long. Anyhow, when I got to her she was standing in the crib bawling. She was super hot to the touch and her heart was racing faster than I've ever felt it. That poor baby's legs were shaking just from the blood pulsing through them so quickly! She's had a blessing and now I'm just waiting to see what happens.. hopefully I can make time to get her to the doctor tomorrow morning if I need to.
She's sleeping peacefully now. Hopefully she'll be back to normal running around talking and giggling soon.
